아래와 같은 '한영'식 영어 글을 하나의 언어 인양 여러 번 소리 내어 읽어보자. 한국말 속에 영어가 보이는 느낌으로!
20세기 중엽에 아더 번스는 미국 예비역 협회의 회장과 서독 대사관， 그리고 아이젠하워에서 리건까지 대통령 고문직을 역임하였다.
In the mid twentieth century， Arthur Burns was the chairman of the Federal Reserve of America， and an ambassador to West Germany and served as an advisor to presidents from Eisenhower to Reagan.
1977년 백악관 임직원들을 위한 조찬 기도회에서 At a prayer breakfast for the White House staff in 1977， 번스씨가 모임 인도 부탁을 받았다 Burns was asked to lead the meeting. 회원 대부분이 번스가 유대인임을 알고 있었다 Most of the members knew that Burns was a Jew. 기도회가 마칠 무렵 Toward the end of the prayer meeting， 회원 중 하나가 번스에게 마치는 기도를 부탁했다 One of them asked Burns to close the meeting in prayer. 그들은 유대인이 어떻게 기도할 지가 무척 궁금하였다 They were very curious to know how a Jew would pray.
주저함 없이 번스는 앞으로 나와 Without a hesitation， Burns came forward， 다른 사람들과 손을 잡고 기도했다 held hands with the others and prayed. "주님， 유대인들이 그리스도를 알게 되기를 기도합니다 Lord， I pray that Jews will get to know Christ. 회교도들이 예수 그리스도를 알게 되기를 기도합니다 I pray that Muslims will get to know Christ. 마지막으로 주님， 세상의 모든 그리스도인들이 예수 그리스도를 알기를 기도 드립니다 Finally， Lord， I pray that all the Christians in the world will know Jesus Christ."
복음서에서 12명의 사람들이 예수 그리스도를 알도록 초청받았다 In the Gospels some 12 people were invited to know Jesus Christ. 그리고 그리스도를 알기 위해서 그들은 그 분을 철저히 배워야만 했다 And to know Christ， they had to learn Christ thoroughly. 당신은 어떠한가 What about you? 당신은 정말 진정으로 예수 그리스도를 아는가 Do you really and truly know Jesus Christ?
